I Met Him at Age 17

I met this boy at 17. I was a senior in high school. I knew his face and name from when he was in school, but I never paid attention to him. He graduated and I first met him one Sunday night at the car wash in our small town. He was 19 at the time. I was washing my car like I usually did after the end of a weekend of riding around. This was in 1976. In high school, he had a very closely shaved head with very little hair. He pulled up in a 1975 Blue Ford Bronco, which really caught my eye. I thought it was a pretty cool ride. I didn't recognize him at first, but I liked the vehicle he was driving because it looked like a fun vehicle to ride in. The reason I didn't recognize him is because he had shoulder length hair and a mustache. He was unrecognizable from what little I remembered him from school. He started talking to me and I had to re ask for sure who I was talking to. But I'll be honest at 17 besides the ride that long hair got my attention. It was kind of cool especially in the late 70s. I asked him what had happened to his hair. He looked so different. He said his father made him keep his hair so short in school. Now, he could wear it long, since he was out of school. He told me he worked on a farm with his father. He seemed to remember me quite well. Well, it was late Sunday night. I had school the next day. I said goodbye and he said would you like to go for a ride sometime. Loving the vehicle and knowing it would be fun to ride in I said yes.
